At Charlestown High School, senior Chris is a track & field star whose team just won the 2019 Boston City League Championship. Chris shared some inspiration and his training game plan to help inspire you!
A running start
Chris likes to leave ample time for stretching and warming up his muscles before the race begins. As he stretches, he likes to clear his mind of all outside noise so he can remain focused on the race.
On his off-days, he likes to watch the latest YouTube videos of professional athletes training, studying their different workout techniques.
Soak up the sun
Chris prefers a hot and sunny day to practice on the track. He hopes for clear skies on Sunday, June 16th for Team SA’s big day running, walking and enjoying fitness events at the Boston Waterfront 5k.

A 5k is a great, accessible distance if you’re just starting out, or if you’re working on your fastest time. But you don’t have to be a runner to participate in the Boston Waterfront 5k – there’s a 5K walk, CorePower Yoga, Reebok’s Les Mills BodyCOMBAT, and a youth 100m Dash. The choice is yours!
